Tweeting For Dollars

Actors, musicians, sports stars and artists donated their tweets to Twitter's first celebrity charity auction, raising a whopping total of more than $540,000 to help build an orphanage in Haiti. In addition to being mentioned in a celebrity's tweet, Twitter users could also bid on the chance for a celebrity to follow them on Twitter or for the celebrity to re-tweet one of their tweets.
