The Swiss Guard, founded in 1506 and consisting of volunteers who must be Swiss, Catholic, single, at least 174 centimeters tall and beardless, celebrate their 502nd anniversary this year.

It's actually the most beautiful things to see at the Vatican. I know it sounds lame, but Swiss males are beautiful and even tho their clothing are medieval that just adds to the romantic feel about the Swiss guards. I was really excited when I saw them guarding their posts when I was there two years ago
