What is street photography?
November 15th 2007 02:46
Street photography captures life, what you see is what you get, how you see it makes the difference between a good photograph or merely a picture.
Street photography is a record of life as it is happening in public places, generally it is not posed or contrived and the art grows with practice and commitment.
It is not meant to be dressed up or altered by computer programs but I suspect that often happens.
So often the photographers preferred medium is black and white or sepia. I guess it all depends on what the photographer is trying to tell you.
It is a record of life.
I hope this gave you a comprehensive view of things and inspiration for your own photographs.

I think it's one thing to shoot a still life--you can take as long as you want to make it "perfect." Street photography is all about NOW!

I loved the photos and appreciated the tips. The brilliant street photo is what I'm aiming for but, oh boy, the flops! Thank heavens for the digital camera!
