Photographing Sydney Opera House.
December 6th 2007 09:33
Everyone who lives in or comes to visit Sydney wants to and does photograph Sydney Opera House.
Here's a selection for you which you can compare with yours.
I've done a lot of this myself and captured some entirely different views.
Some of these use some special effects, others would only be possible in the right circumstances and would need specific skills and equipent.
Hopefully they'll give you some more ideas other than the straight point and shoot. That way everyone gets a photo, but invariably they could be better.
Let's see what you think.
I regret to say there are too many here which do not make it. You need to take a lot of photos of this particular structure to get the right idea.
The biggest mistake is trying to achieve too much with too little.
Mostly, before these photographers can get off the ground, what you need is a better camera, so if you want really good images spend a lot more on your equipment and learn a lot more about photography and go to every photo exhibition you can and read magazines and books, use your imagination and your brain. That way, with practice and plenty of it you WILL get better.

Alpaca Notes - Tasmania
I like the one with the speed boat in it and the sunset one.
Not sure that the brown concrete block (or whatever it is), underneath the sails does anything for the building tho. Always looks a bit tacky. It would look much better a different colour - imo)

Getting better photos on the harbour takes a lot of practice.
