Ahead of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, dancers perform a ballet depicting a peasant woman's journey into the People's Liberation Army.



Dancers from the National Ballet of China perform the "Red Detachment of Women" ballet at the Tanggu Great Theater, ahead of upcoming October's 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, in Tianjin, September 26, 2009.

Je l'adore. I have loved ballet since primary school when one of my class mates danced. I'm a balletophile from way back, to an unbearable degree.

But this particular one deters me.
