Great tips for powerful images.

Pleasant landscape
scenic landscape

I thought that was an easy opener for you and one that even amateurs could aim for.

The first image is from CNN, notice its strength is in the famous person vein but it is a lovely message and Mr. Bush's head is positioned on an angle as he looks towards the bird on his shoulder. This venue is also very special if you read the caption and the photo is not of his full head which makes for interesting photography a bit in keeping with what I was saying yesterday.

Now we have the National Geographic image, what I like about this is the photograph captures the joy and activity of the children notice the raised foot and the shadows and the cameraderie of the two girls the muted reflections and the eccentric setting and notice the building featured to the rear and left side of the image.

Here's what National Geographic has to say:

Young girls in Yerevan, Armenia, play in the mist created by the city's Republic Square fountain.

This grandiose water feature is an apt fixture in a city whose landscape is dominated by the ghostly Mount Ararat, thought to be the resting place of Noah's Ark.

(Photo shot on assignment for, but not published in, "The Rebirth of Armenia," March 2004, National Geographic magazine)

And now here is a real treat for any ambitious photographer, it is a picture gallery, just click each image in turn and each one is accompanied by phototips, you will both enjoy it and learn from it.

Good info--something to which everyone should strive. It's hard not to post stuff from Nationalgeographic.com isn't it? I have to make it a point to only go on there once every couple of weeks. I always find something earth shattering! The writing--anyone could do but the images....
