Photography: KLCC tower & Siti Nurhaliza's wedding reception
August 25th 2006 17:14
As I was wondering what topic to write on, the recent commotion over the wedding of Malaysian pop diva Siti Nurhaliza to Datuk K had my interest drawn to it. Siti marring a recently divorced man who is 20 years her senior, lead to a speculation that the ‘good’ girl is no more a good-girl but a home wrecker. Probably that is the reason for the outcry!
I have listened to couple of her hits and think she has a sweet voice… that’s fit for a diva. But who she marries and how she lives, I think it's best left to Siti..it's her life!
The wedding took place on 21st August 2006 in KL, Malaysia. The wedding reception is to be held on 28th August 2006 at KLCC (Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre). A place I love to visit over and over again… so decided to write this post on aerial shots and to upload some of the panoramic views shot from KLCC.
Tip #2: On the ground, focus on a particular spot or building and try to treat the rest as a background in which the object blends.
Tip #3: Go for a wider shot rather than a close-up. This way the photo wil be able to tell a story..
Tip #4: Avoid crowded area. Specially when groups of people move around. If you can't avoid the crowd observe their movement, try to find a pattern and capture that in your photograph.
Tip #5: It's safe to try number of different angles of a spot.
Tip #6: Air pollution, haze and fog will hinder your view and clarity of the photo. Some can be edited using appropriate photo editing software.
Tip #7: Try a few shots with vertical framing by tilting your digital camera 90 degrees to one side. This helps showcase distance and adds even more perspective to the photo.
Tip#8: Decide in advance how you want to project your picture, the right time of the day, etc in order to avoid the shadow of the tower falling over the site you plan to photograph.
Try the link given to get some idea about aerial shots.

Finallly, if you have been looking for some inspiration of photos to take from the air? Consider the book "Earth From Above" by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. It can provide you with many stunning examples of how ordinary things on the ground look extraordinary from the air. Pay close attention to the use of patterns, colors, textures, and symmetry.
Good luck with your photography =)
