Sony A DSLR - for serious enthusiasts with patience and skill.

I've found some information on the SONY A DSLR for you.
I found SONY's own website less impressive than others I have viewed.
I am of the opinion that if you want a camera, buy from a camera only manufacturer whose reputation hangs on the quality of its cameras. But it is up to you.
I haven't gone into specifications too much but I have highlighted claims to fame and produced some images. A lot will depend on your own expertise, your fondness or otherwise for the camera settings and willingness to use them and, of course, the quality of the lens and suitability of the lens chosen.
I think one could do better for one's money but by the end of the day the choice is yours, this is a camera for "real photographers" and ease of use of other camera products may suit you better. Particular lenses and settings suit particular subjects so you need to work out what you are likely to be doing with your camera.
This is a camera for serious enthusiast photographers and boasts a faster image processor,
improved dust and moisture resistance, a larger LCD monitor and a brighter viewfinder.
This A700 comes with "Super SteadyShot inside", a built-in anti-shake function that works with all Alpha lenses. A gyroscope in the camera body detects camera motion and shifts the sensor to counteract it, giving a 2.5-4 stop shutter speed advantage over unstabilised cameras.
It is a well-built DSLR for serious photo enthusiasts, which offers excellent imaging performance and a wide range of adjustable controls.
RRP: $2249 (body only)
Rating (out of 10):
Build: 9
Ease of use: 9
Image quality: 9
OVERALL: 9
Quite a way short of a 10 for your money, isn't it?

I think I'll stick with my little Cannon IXUS500 - Point and shoot, baby. Cheers.
