Some exceptional photography for the day.

here's the link for the daily photos and my favourites are listed below.
My very first choice is the one I have featured at the top here as being representative of an exceptionally good photograph, it is symbolic, it grabs the mind and the focus, the photographer is extraordinarily well placed and the composition is exceptional and of course appropriate settings have been chosen.
It is not often than one sees a photograph taken in the open air as part of a moving parade that is so well done.
It ensures the mind questions and it informs and the viewer is captured by the photographer's techniques.
The crosses look like swords and weapons and the costumes of the penitents look like the Ku Klux Khan. No doubt that was not the intention but it poses a question.
Exceptional work.
No 6 is representative of extreme discipline and order, each soldier doing the same thing at the same time and the symmetrical rows taken on an angle reinforces the might of the military regime and machine.
No 9 because of the brutal savagery imposed on an essentially peace loving monk in Tibet. The horror of his situation is precisely captured. And no, I do not like to see such things, it makes me want to recoil.
No. 12 Hilary's pride is captured so well and the image well positioned.
No. 14 because of its absolute and delightful charm, it uplifts the spirits.
No. 17 simply because it is charming.
