Leukemia survivor









Gaia Damerst shows a leukemia survivor tattoo next to her mediport pendant as she prepares for a prom sponsored by The Children's Hospital for cancer patients, in Denver June 8, 2010. The mediport was implanted in Damerst, a leukemia cancer survivor, to administer chemotherapy and she made it into a pendant to wear around her neck after it was removed. Her tattoo marks January 8, 2010 as the date it was removed upon end of the treatment.
