Girls from ages 10 to 16 participate in weekly sessions of self-defence during school term. International Women's Day (IWD) was honoured the first time in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland on March 19, 1911. More than one million women and men attended IWD rallies campaigning for women's rights to work, vote, be trained, to hold public office and end discrimination. International Women's Day is observed every year across the globe to mark the efforts by women in various fields.
