How To Take Good Photos - Buildings: Verticals

In pictures of buildings, it is never 'wrong' to keep your verticals going straight up and so keep the sides parallel. Other views may be more dynamic but the basic view is the vertical.
If you have too much foreground when using a wide-angle setting, make the shot anyway, then use your computer to crop off the foreground.
Try taking two or more views with the camera held in portrait format. Then use your computer to stitch the shots together to form a panorama which takes in the whole building.
