Land sea and sky makes for a good colour contrast, the sense of isolation and being alone is captured with a strategic use of rule of thirds, just look at the angle and perspective and note the horizontal and oblique lines.
See what I mean about always take your camera with you, you never know when that great shot, such as this, will present itself.
