Fireworks, Photography & Tripod!

My avant-garde type photography
New Year's Eve fireworks at Dockland, Melbourne
This picture was captured on the Eve of New Year 2006. Having bought a digital camera for the first time and had only a couple of days of self taught sessions I was nothing but too happy to capture every moment of the magnificent display of fireworks at Dockland in Melbourne.
Soon my excitement came to an abrupt end upon seeing the images on the display screen of the camera. My fidgety-hand and the motion of the fireworks did not coordinate very well, resulting in a new generation of photography!
That’s when I realised, it would’ve been better if I had a tripod to help hold and position the camera better. I also realised later, whenever you have to capture a moving object the function on the camera has to be preset to motion…
Now that I’m better equipped and knowledgeable in digital photography, looking forward to the annual fireworks on New Year’s Eve…
Tips on Fireworks Photography
The site captured my attention and found it to be easy to understand and follow in relation to fireworks photography. The tips given are general. It doesn’t relate to any particular digital camera. Hope you find it useful too.
