Tall buildings--specifically skyscrapers--have long been equated with world prominence. If this is the case, then Dubai--the UAE's biggest city--is ready for world dominance. The Burj Dubai--currently under construction--is the tallest man-made structure in the world, reaching over 2,000 feet. While Dubai's high-flying economy of the early aughts has taken a hit during the recession, when oil and natural gas prices begin to rise again, the resource-rich region should be able to bounce back.
