Jirka Vaatainen is a Finnish graphic design student based in Bournemouth, UK. One of his latest projects on display in this slideshow is making realistic, life-like depictions of female cartoon characters from Disney films. Vaatainen says of his work, "I have always been interested in character design, as well as the way people look and what makes them unique in their appearances."
And since creating these images, from iconic heroines like Snow White, Cinderella and Belle to villains like Ursula, the work has getting a lot of attention and buzz online. "The response has been overwhelming, since I never really expected many people to see these. I am so grateful for people taking the time to comment on my work and get in contact with me after seeing these. It is so rewarding to see how many people can appreciate what I've done with the characters they all know and love as well," says Vaatainen
