This is a film camera so don't even think about digital, just get your film processed at the nearest photolab, and if you're disappointed just question the techniques of the lab, sometimes it's just a slap happy place that does a slap happy job. Look elsewhere.

So just what does this camera do for you?

So here are two pictures to illustrate.

So maybe this will do you to start with or as a present for someone you know.

Here's what Canon has to say.

5.0 Megapixel
Canon 4.0x optical zoom lens

Fast, affordable and feature packed, all within a pocket-sized body. The easy to use PowerShot A460 is the perfect camera for newcomers to digital photography. With a high resolution 5.0MP sensor and Canon 4.0x optical zoom lens these cameras are capable of capturing images that will produce superb prints up to A4 size. Boasting high speed start-up, fast autofocus, faster overall processing and superb image quality thanks to the revolutionary DiG!C II Imaging Processor, the PowerShot A460 will never miss a shot.

It is a bit confusing that sometimes the site refers to digital, sometimes to film, so that would be something you need to check out before purchase.

It's something to think about though, isn't it?

Not sure I could go back to a film camera now. The digital ones are much more convenient and they're getting better all the time. Cheers.

I take your point Rosemary, but my camera is film but a very expensive one and I'm turning to the view that a supplement with a digital would not go astray. But my film is as digital as they come, the camera works out everything, via digital chips, all I can say to it is well done, it sets me free to focus on composition [pun very definitely intended]
