A lignite mine is seen behind the castle of Jezeri near the city of Most, 100km (62 miles) north-west from Prague November 24, 2009. Despite international efforts to limit carbon dioxide emissions from sources such as coal-burning power station, Czech coal mining companies are pushing to extend coal production.
