Photo of the day = photographically perfect?

A helicopter flies during a rescue of 5 adults at Crib Goch, a subsidiary peak of the Snowdon mountains in Wales, December 25. 2008. You Witness News/Mark Reeves
Of course one has to be in the right spot at the right time, poised and ready and focussed, dare I say.
The photographer's eye must move quickly and that trigger happy finger even faster, he's done well with this one.
Presumably taken with a fish eye lens, the central focus is the helicopter and it is well placed, centrally, or is it just slightly right of centre with the tip of the blade being at the central point.
However one looks at it, whatever your perspective, apart from the photographer's, it is a superb photograph.
It's tonings are in soft greys and green, almost blending one with the other.
It is circular, creating a space for the central image. The curves repeat in the surroundings and the sky and one can easily distinguish the convergent lines created by the roads and the grass and curved around by the mountain and the soft colourings in the sky, whence comes the light.
God's work and not the photographer's you may well say, but be that as it may there is a lot of man made construction there and the photographer has captured this shot for all the world to see not just those on location.
The pinks and blues in the sky and the white fluffy clouds appear as straight lines on the mountains ( look for them) and geometric patterns come together to ensure this photo's rightful place as photo of the day.
