Photographing babies : dear to everyone's heart.
November 19th 2007 00:36
This post is to give you some ideas about photographing a new baby and toddlers.
You'll notice the first one is in no way conventioanally composed. So imagination and inspiration are all the go.
Do check out your camera's capabilities, some do not do close ups well so you may need to 'cut the cloth to suit the garment', so to speak.
The series of photos should give you some fresh ideas about how to go about things, but remember baby's safety is all important and you don't want your newborn getting too cold or conversely too hot so use some parenting skills when you go about this type of photography and remember baby is unlikely to pose for you, so it is you who will have to make all the decisions and speed of photography is a guiding maxim. That means hurry YOU, not the baby, babies need taking care of, never forget that. Unfortunately, nowadays, so many parents do. Parental skills don't always come naturally you'll have to exercise some discretion accompanied by thought and do remember babies are placed in our care, not just for our pleasure, photographed or otherwise.
I'm sure you will love these pictures and there is great scope for angles and unusual positions here as you'll see by looking at the photos.
May your photography improve by the hour.

Rosemary, I thought you had a lien on 'crias' maybe they don't vomit but they do spit and need eventually to be shorn.
I understand your point 'tho.

These are really great photos!
I am learning how to capture nicer shots. Those you saw in my latest post in Kelantan are mostly my shots and my colleague's too, who's a pro to me. ^_^
Have a blessed day
