When I return, I will definitely go back to Pompeii. There is only one thing unsettling about the place. While walking through the streets that 2000 years ago were destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius, you can still feel the residual fear in the air. (I know, sounds weird, but if you go there, you'll KNOW what I mean.)
The other place is Trieste at the northern-most part of the adriatic sea. The people are friendly, and as long as you try to speak the language, they treat you like family. (Some will even invite you to their home.) The whole town has a feeling of home about it. You go there, and you will long for a simpler life. You won't want to leave. Unfortunately, the rat-race will call you back to keep chasing your cheese.
