Ambiq Micro, a microprocessor startup in Ann Arbor, Mich., turned to the University of Michigan for help in refining its technology. It also leaned on the business school to produce a team to develop an in-depth business plan. Recently the company received its first seed investment--from the Frankel Fund, a student led venture fund within the university.
